December 2016 Enhancements

Revised Cub Scout Requirements

On November 30, the BSA announced changes to the requirements for most of the Cub Scout badges and adventures that will make it easier for scouts to complete each rank within a year.

These new requirements were implemented in TroopWebHostCS  within the following week.

In many cases an existing requirement was renumbered and/or the text was changed slightly.  Scouts who have already completed these requirements will still show them as completed.

Completed adventures and badges will still show as complete, even if the requirements were changed.

We hope this made the transition as easy as pie...and just in time for the holidays!

Cyber Chip for Cub Scouts

The Cyber Chip award may now be tracked on the Adventures and Badges page at all age levels.

So, for example, if you go to the Tiger tab, you'll see Tiger Cyber Chip at the bottom of the Tiger Badge and Adventures grid.

If you click on the Scouts button, you'll see all of the requirements for the Cyber Chip at that age level.

Just like any other Cub Scout adventure, badge or award, you can sign off on individual requirements for a group of scouts, sign off on multiple requirements for one scout, or simply mark the entire award complete.

World Conservation Award Report

The requirements for the World Conservation Award are primarily based on the completion of specific merit badges.  The requirements for this award were changed on December 16.  The new requirements are:

The new World Conservation Award Report lets you quickly see the status of all active scouts on all of these requirements, as shown below.

This report can be accessed from Advancement → National Outdoor Awards Reports → World Conservation Award Report.

ScoutBook™ Upload Programs

Troops, packs and crews that want to switch from ScoutBook™ to TroopWebHost  or TroopWebHostCS   now have an easier path.

Our new ScoutBook upload programs allow you to transfer most of your membership and advancement data electronically.  Troops and crews can also transfer participation in past events.

You'll find detailed instructions for these new programs beginning here in the TroopWebHost User Guide for Boy Scout troops and crews, and starting here in the TroopWebHostCS User Guide for Cub Scout packs.
