Help Your Scouts Advance
Your advancement leader is responsible for recording every achievement on the way to earning the next rank or merit badge.
TroopWebHost makes this job a lot easier, by...
- Providing a list of the requirements for each award
- Letting you check off those requirements as they are met
- Exporting a ScoutNet compatible advancement file to upload to your district
- Printing out reports for the scout office and court of honor

Advancement History
The first tab of the Advancement page summarizes what this scout has achieved so far.
It shows his rank advancement history, leadership history, community service hours, and participation in recent campouts.
Notice the tabs across the top of the page. Click on a tab to see all of the requirements for that rank and "check off" those that were recently earned.

Rank Requirements
Move your mouse to the left to view the details of this form.
TroopWebHost has a complete description of the requirements for each rank, including the latest changes
that took effect January 1, 2010.
Simply check the box next to each requirement that this scout has earned, and then indicate the date on which it was earned.
When all requirements for a given rank have been completed, the system will automatically update the scout's rank to this new level.

|
Merit Badge Requirements
In a similar way, the system knows the requirements for each merit badge and allows you to record each achievement.
This example shows the requirements for Life Saving merit badge. As each is earned, the advancement leader checks off that requirement and logs the date.
When all requirements have been met, the merit badge has been earned. Later you can record the date on which it was awarded.

|
Other Awards
Other awards, like Order of the Arrow or the Eagle palms, can also be recorded in the database.
|

|
Export Advancement File
Once all of your advancement data is up to date, you can export an advancement file in a standard format used by many councils.
This file will contain all of the advancements that have been earned during the specified time period.
|

|
Reports
You can print out several reports once your advancement records are up to date.
The Advancement Report, shown at left, can be sent to the district office to register your recent advancements.
Other reports include:
- Pending Award Counts (good for ordering patches and badges)
- Rank Status by Age of Scout (identifies scouts who are behind in advancement
- Rank Status by Date of Current Rank
- Uncompleted Rank Requirements
- Uncompleted Merit Badge Requirements
- Order of the Arrow Scout Eligibility
- Order of the Arrow Advancement Dates
