Communicate With E-Mail and Text Messages

You may already be using e-mail to communicate with your troop.

It's a great way to keep everyone in the know about upcoming activities.

But keeping a current list of e-mail addresses is difficult, and you want to be sure that your message reaches everyone in the troop.

TroopWebHost makes it easy!

Troop Members Keep Their E-Mail Addresses Up To Date

Members are encouraged to keep their contact information up to date, including their e-mail addresses.

Every member of the troop has access to the My Stuff menu, which includes the option to Update My Contact Information.

This screen lets them save two current e-mail addresses in the troop database along with an SMS text mail address so they can receive messages on their cell phone. It also lets them update their phone numbers, mailing address, and other information.

This ensures you will always have a complete and accurate set of e-mail addresses for the entire troop!

Send E-Mail Directly From TroopWebHost

Use the Compose E-Mail function to send e-mail and text messages to any or all troop members.

You can compose a message using a special text editor that allows you to underline, italicize and bold-face text, as well as centering selected information on the page.

You can attach a document to your message that will be sent to every recipient.

If you want to send this message to everyone in the troop, simply check the box at the top of the checkbox column. You can select or de-select individual members just by checking the box next to their name.

Click the Send button at the bottom of the page to transmit your message to all indicated recipients. The recipients who have SMS text mail addresses will receive the subject line of your message on their cell phone.

E-Mail Groups

You can select one or more members of your troop to be members of an e-mail group.

That makes it easy to send an e-mail to every member of that group.

You can also send an e-mail to everyone in a patrol, or everyone that signed up for an event.

The system keeps a record of every e-mail message you sent and who you sent it to.

Every member can scroll through their own Out Box to see what they've sent.

You can also view messages you've received from the troop e-mail system by going to My In Box (shown at left).

From the In Box you can reply to any message.  It's like having a private e-mail system just for your troop!
