Event Reminders
TroopWebHost
now has the ability to automatically send
reminders to your troop about upcoming events.
Reminders can take the form of e-mail messages, as shown at right, or SMS text messages.
SMS text messages will only contain the subject line of the message.
You can set up reminders for any event type.
Once you configure an event type for reminders, the system will automatically send reminders for all events of that type.
Reminders can be configured to go to:
- Your entire troop, or
- Participants only, or
- Undecideds only, or
- Participants and undecideds
If you select participants and/or undecideds, the message can also be sent to their parents.
Reminders can go out the same day as the event, or one to six days prior to the event, or one to four weeks prior to the event.
The system will begin sending out reminders every day at 8:00 local time, with the "same day" messages going out first.
If the event allows users to sign up, the message will show the current sign up status of each member of the recipient's family.
If the event has shifts, the message will display all of the shifts and the family members who have signed up for them.
A link at the top of the message will take you directly to the calendar detail page for this event.
The message will also display meal plans and activities, as well as opportunities to earn requirements for merit badges and rank advancement.

You'll find this new report on the Advancement Reports submenu.
