Tips & Tricks

Rainy summer campouts can be a fun adventure, if you know how to stay dry. One neat trick is to skip the ground cloth entirely. Instead, use that cloth, a tarp, or plastic sheeting to make a liner INSIDE your tent. Use a piece that is 8-10” larger than the floor of your tent and let the extra material run up the insides of the tent, making a shell that will keep you dry even if water soaks through the bottom of your tent.

Trivia

We have troops in a city named Lebanon in three different states:

Troop 420 Lebanon, Oregon
Troop 186 Lebanon, Ohio
Troop 446 Lebanon, Pennsylvania

There's more than 2,800 miles between Oregon's Lebanon and Pennsylvania's Lebanon. It would take more than 42 hours to drive from one to the other, but you could stop in Ohio's Lebanon on the way!
