Some users with Android phones have reported a problem receiving email messages. On some messages, the body of the email is missing – but only when viewed from their Android phone.

We want to thank Jack Fatheree, Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 77 of Frisco, Texas, for coming up with a solution. He discovered that the email software on the Android phone was limiting the size of message it could receive.

Here are his step-by-step instructions to fix this:

Log on to your Android phone

Select the “Settings” app

Select “Applications”

Select “Email”

Select “Manage Accounts”

Select the email address that you are receiving messages on, for example jsmith@gmail.com

Select “Sync Settings”

Select “Limit retrieval size”

Select “Limit retrieval size” again (new page, same name)

Select “No limit” from the list of choices
