Trivia

Our moon continues to be a fascination for Earth dwellers, and to have an impact on life on our planet.  Imagine what it would be like to have more than one moon!

Question: Which planets in the solar system have the greatest number of moons?

Answer: Jupiter currently has 63 natural satellites, and Saturn has 60 moons. Uranus has 27 moons, and Neptune has 13 natural satellites. In order for a natural satellite to be called a moon, astronomers have to know its orbit well enough to be able to predict its future location.

Every morning until late February, five planets will be visible across the dawn sky.  Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter will all appear at the same time, about 45 minutes before sunrise.  The celestial show takes place from January 20th until February 20th.  The peak time to see all five is now until the first week of February.
