On May 15, at the National Annual Meeting, Scouting America announced a new training course that replaces Youth Protection. This new course is called Safeguarding Youth Training, or "SYT".
We have confirmed that there are two new courses, which we have already added to your Training Courses table:
It appears that Scouting America intends to track training compliance using the Certification (Y01) entry, which is good for 12 months. We will use that same entry when we compute each member's SYT (formerly "YPT") status.
Scouting America also released a new training report, the Safeguarding Youth Training Aging Report, which includes past YPT training as well as the new SYT training.  We now support this new report in our Upload Training From My.Scouting page.
All grids and reports that show YPT information have been relabeled "SYT", as shown here:
If a leader has not yet completed Safeguarding Youth Training, then their status in this column will be based on when they last took Youth Protection Training 2. Once a leader completes Safeguarding Youth Training, this certification will expire in 12 months, even if their earlier YPT certification (which may have been for 2 years) has a later expiration date.
The entirety of a message that was sent via the Email Relay is now being saved in your database. This may be viewed from the My Inbox and View All E-Mail pages..
You now have the ability to deactivate a dynamic subgroup by checking the "Set as inactive" box, as shown below.
Deactivating a dynamic subgroup will remove it from all choice lists where a dynamic group may be selected. Existing references to a deactivated dynamic subgroup will still work, though.
This feature does not apply to Cub Scout and Girl Scout sites.
Each scouting unit may decide whether to consider cabin camping nights when determining a scout's eligibility for Order of the Arrow.
The Order of the Arrow Eligibility report has never included cabin camping nights in its calculations. This has not changed.
However, for those troops that wish to consider cabin camping nights, we now show two additional columns with the long term and short term cabin camping nights completed in the past two years by each scout.
Next month we plan to release a major upgrade to the TroopWebHost Mobile App, which is available for free at the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
This upcoming version will include:
The Messaging Center will provide a reliable way to send and receive messages on mobile devices. This will replace our current use of SMS gateways to send messages, which are being phased out by some cell phone carriers.
Users will be able to authorize the app to alert them whenever a new message is received.
With this new version, data synchronization will occur primarily in the background. The only time you will have to wait for the app to download data from the server will be if you intentionally request a download by tapping the Refresh Data or Reload Data buttons.
Our goal is to make the TroopWebHost Mobile App the preferred tool for non-administrative users. It's fast, it's easy, and it's free! This new version will make it faster and easier, as it becomes the core of your unit's communication infrastructure.
Send us a ticket from the My Support Tickets page on your site's Help menu. This is absolutely the best way to communicate with us!
Or simply contact us at CustomerSupport@TroopWebHost.com. If you do, please include your troop number and city in your message so we can identify your site.
