A new source of membership data is now available from ScoutbookPlus. The Roster Report is a CSV format file with information about all of your current scouts and adult members.
This file can now be imported into TroopWebHost by going to Membership → Upload Members → Upload ScoutbookPlus Roster Report.
You should always select the "Trial Run" option the first time you upload any new file. This will allow you to see what membership records will be added, which can help you spot potential duplicates before they are added to your database.
For scouts, the program can import the following information:
For adults, the program can upload the following information:
The upload program will automatically create relationships between scouts and their parents.
We cannot import the training data from the report, since it does not include the date each course was completed.
This feature does not apply to Cub Scout and Girl Scout sites.
ScoutbookPlus has a Report Builder that can generate a CSV file that includes all ranks, merit badges, and awards that have been earned or are in progress for all of your active scouts.
This file can now be imported into TroopWebHost by going to Advancement → Upload Advancement → Upload ScoutbookPlus ReportBuilder Advancement.
When the upload is complete, it will display a status report, an example of which is provided below. Please note that you can collapse any section of this report by clicking on the blue header row.
If there are any merit badge requirements that don't align with their definitions in TroopWebHost, you may need to enter these manually into TroopWebHost. If you believe the TroopWebHost definition should be updated to match ScoutbookPlus, please open a Support Ticket and provide us with the details.
One example of such a mismatch involves the Sports Merit Badge. The TroopWebHost definition for requirement 5 is divided into two subsections, one for each of the two selected sports. ScoutbookPlus only provides one set of subrequirements, which doesn't allow you to track each sport separately. In this case we do not plan to change our requirements to match ScoutbookPlus.
The report will also list all ranks, merit badges, awards, and requirements that were added. It does not list any that were already in TroopWebHost.
Version 2.3.2 of the TroopWebHost Mobile App, released earlier this month, includes new formatting options when composing messages in the Message Center. Additionally, the page now scrolls as you type to ensure that the active line of text stays in view.
When composing a message on your TroopWebHost site, the following notice will now appear when SMS recipients are included:
The [More info] link points to this User Guide article, which contains further details about the current issues with SMS delivery and our plans moving forward.
This feature does not apply to Cub Scout and Girl Scout sites.
Last month we announced support for the new Scouts BSA Test Lab merit badges.
We recently added two more Test Lab merit badges to TroopWebHost: Physics and Sewing. As with the other Test Lab badges, completing the Physics or Sewing merit badges will NOT be counted toward the merit badge requirements for Star, Life, Eagle, or Eagle Palms . . . unless Scouts BSA decides to convert them to permanent, official merit badges.
