This month, we are announcing a package of changes to TroopWebHost that we think will enhance your experience and save you money!
- We recently gave you the ability to store
photos at higher resolution, and gave you a new folder
subdirectory system for forms and documents.
These new features could result in larger data storage requirements which, under our previous pricing structure, would have added a $10 charge
for each gigabyte of storage after the first (free) gig.
We are happy to announce that, beginning January 1*, you will get 10 gigabytes of storage for photos and documents for free, and will be charged only $1 for each gig after the tenth. This will give you the freedom to store documents and hi-rez photos for little or no cost. This is a feature that everyone can start using right now!
- Next month, the TroopWebHost mobile app will be available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
It will support Scouts BSA units, Cub Scout packs and Girl Scout troops.
Initially, you will be able to use it to update your contact information and sign up for upcoming events.
Leaders will be able to take attendance, even in remote locations where there is no Internet service.
We will be working aggressively to add many other capabilities in the coming months.
We are excited to announce that the TroopWebHost mobile app will be free!
- Our annual subscription rate of $99 hasn’t changed since we began TroopWebHost in 2009.
We have been holding off on a rate increase because of the economic challenges brought on by Covid-19, but a change
will be necessary to cover infrastructure expenses in the coming year. We have done our best to keep the increase as low as possible.
We think you will agree that a $10 increase in the subscription rate is reasonable and manageable, especially in light of the savings on storage many of you will get, plus a free mobile app! The subscription fee will be just $109 and will start with renewals effective April 1, 2021.
* The new pricing policy for storage will apply to all renewals with an effective date of January 1, 2021, or later, regardless of when you pay the renewal.
